Catarina graduated from UTAD, Portugal, in 2021, having completed several externships in equine practice before graduating. She then moved to the UK and completed an 18–month veterinary internship at Sussex Equine Hospital, where she gained experience in many areas of equine medicine and surgery.

After finishing the internship, Cat started working as an ambulatory vet and also volunteered at The American Fondouk in Morocco providing free veterinary care for working mules, donkeys and horses. Catarina enjoys all aspects of equine medicine and surgery but she’s particularly interested in internal medicine, wound management, sports medicine and complementary therapies.

Cat has always been an animal lover, having spent most of her free time as a kid and teenager having fun with her dogs and riding her beloved Lusitano horses. Our breeds have gained a special place in her heart too and Cat cannot resist the lovely Shire horses. Catarina loves riding, swimming and spending time with her family and friends.
